A few questions to a partner of KC Legal & KC Accounting, Ceriel Coppus

By Geen categorie

Want to expand your business to the Netherlands but still doubting about the reliable firm to work with? We asked a partner of KC Legal & KC Accounting, Ceriel Coppus about the most important variables that may affect your choice:

Who is your typical client?

Basically, we focus on small and mid-sized enterprises in Russia and CIS countries. We have a professional approach to all our clients and do not have any specific priorities. We don’t specifically focus on big companies, we treat all clients with respect.

What is your philosophy when it comes to helping clients?

– We aim to put clients in the middle of the tax advice process. This ensures that matters are as tax efficient as possible, whilst at the same time giving clients ultimate control of any decisions that need to be made. Additionally, wherever possible, the clients’ existing advisors are brought in to assist the advice process to ensure a cohesive approach 24/7.

What does it mean – to be a top tier consultant?

Going beyond just tax advice our focus is to provide our clients with an unrivalled and bespoke family office service. Integral to this we have established a network of carefully selected independent advisors who speak Russian, Dutch, English and Italian languages. We truly believe that this approach distinguishes KC Legal & KC Accounting from the other firms.

What is the most important in tax advisory?

I guess that Tax advisory not only allows companies to figure out which elements have to be taken into account, but also it looks forward an optimization on incomes while being under any legal terms.

I know what previously only KC Legal was existing. Now you have KC Legal and KC Accounting separately. May I ask you how it works and why this separation is important?

– We deal with all aspects of financial activities, tax, legislation and accounting activities. Our company is subdivided into two sectors: tax advisory and accounting. But if the project is big enough, we establish a group of tax advisors and accountants specializing in tax, financial and business activities, and they work together.

In KC Legal we deal with all aspects of financial activities, tax, legislation and business activities. In KC Accounting we mostly focus on the preparation of financial statements, management reports and preparation of VAT and corporate income tax returns. However, if the project is big enough, we work in cooperation to deliver superior results.

During the event, Jeroen mentioned differences in business culture, discussed communication barriers between Russians and the Dutch while doing business, and explained what to expect from a Dutch business partner. Also, the expert shared his professional experience, mentioned how to deal with the communication barrier and demonstrated tips and tricks on how to create a useful business network. Finally, he explained how to establish a business infrastructure in the Netherlands and argued why the Netherlands is the best choice for a Russian company to expand to Europe.

“If don’t make it in the Netherlands, you will have a hard time making it somewhere else” – Jeroen Ketting.

After the webinar, Jeroen also commented on the Russian decision to withdraw from the tax treaty with the Netherlands.
